HPD: 4 injured when gunfire erupted from 3 different cars outside convenience store near South Loop

Police said passengers in each of the three vehicles opened fire into the group, hitting three people and possibly a fourth.

HOUSTON — The Houston Police Department is investigating after four people were hurt during a shooting outside a convenience store Friday night.

This happened on Cullen Boulevard just north of the South Loop around 11:15 p.m.

A group of people was hanging out outside a convenience store when three vehicles slowly drove by. Police said passengers in each of the three vehicles opened fire into the group, hitting three people and possibly a fourth.

Three of the victims, men in their 20s, were able to drive themselves to a nearby fire station where they were brought to a hospital for treatment. The fourth victim, a woman in her 20s, drove to a separate convenience store where emergency crews were able to check her out.

Police described the suspects' vehicles as a maroon Chrysler, a white Altima and a black Charger. HPD couldn't give any other information about the suspects.

Investigators were in the area working to gather witness statements and evidence.
