Houston-area man accused of providing illegal butt injections connected to federal investigation, prosecutors say

Prosecutors also don’t know what the substance is that Dustin David Moore allegedly used on his patients.

HOUSTON — The Pasadena man accused of giving patients buttocks injections with an unknown substance appeared in court Friday morning.

Prosecutors revealed the allegations against Dustin David Moore stem from a much larger federal investigation into the smuggling of unknown substances into the U.S.

Moore faces one count of practicing medicine without a license and one count of aggravated assault. He is accused of using a syringe to inject an unknown substance into the buttocks of a customer in February, according to court documents. That customer ended up in the hospital.

"The defendant injected her with an unknown substance that we don’t know what it is and she became very ill, gravely ill ultimately over a series of days," said Sheila Hansel with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

Moore was arrested this week at his business called "Skinny Skulpt" in Pasadena.

“When officers went to the defendant’s business to arrest him, they found, in plain view, a case of Botox, but it was counterfeit Botox,” Hansel said.

The Harris County District Attorney's office confirms the federal investigation that ultimately led to Moore's arrest also resulted in the arrest of Consuelo and Isabella Dal Bo in early April. The mother and daughter duo is also facing charges, accused of providing illegal injections.

As for Moore, two other charges filed against him were dismissed Friday because they fell outside the 3-year statute of limitations. However, prosecutors said at least 10 other victims have now come forward with allegations that Moore injected them with unknown substances.

On Friday, a judge set an additional $80,000 bond for Moore because he violated probation in a previous assault case. He was booked back into jail.
