Chelsea Clinton welcomes daughter Charlotte
Baby news, Clinton style.
Chelsea Clinton, 34, tweeted on Sept. 27, "Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky." She also posted the message to her official Facebook account.
The post on Facebook received more than 21,000 likes by 1:37 a.m. One user named Stacey Kelly Egide went as far to say on the social network, "Hillary and I both have new grand-daughters named Charlotte, it's a sign! #2016."
Another well-wisher named Maddy Kornblatt Sikoryak simply said Mozol Tov! Chelsea's husband is Jewish.
Chelsea had announced her pregnancy in April. The Washington Post created a baby name generator in the spring to let users in on the fun of guessing the moniker of the unborn child.
Former President and father Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State and mother Hillary re-tweeted their daughter's announcement early Saturday.
President Obama had joked this week during a New York speech, "If Chelsea begins delivery while I'm speaking, she has my motorcade and will be able to navigate (New York) traffic."
Chelsea, who was due in the fall, announced in late August that she was leaving her role at NBC News. She said in a statement posted in USA TODAY's Entertain This! that she would continue focusing 'on my work at the Clinton Foundation and as Marc [Mezvinsky] and I look forward to welcoming our first child.'
