Liberty County wildfire 90-percent contained; Nearby residents can return home

People who live near the fire off County Road 3810, southwest of Cleveland, can return home, according to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office.

CLEVELAND, Texas — Several crews have almost contained a wildfire burning in Liberty County.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office said the fire was about 90-percent contained by 2:30 p.m. 

Nearby residents who were evacuated can return to their homes.

There are no reports of injuries.

The fire is off County Road 3810 about seven miles southwest of Cleveland.

Crews from Liberty, Montgomery County and San Jacinto counties battled the wildfire with help from the Texas A&M Forestry Service.

At this point, we don’t know how the fire started.
