Check your fridge! A recall has been issued for some salads sold at H-E-B because they included potential allergens without stating so on the packaging, the U.S Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Wednesday. The salads were only distributed in Texas.
The ready-to-eat chef salad with chicken items were produced between May 10 and May 13, 2019. They come in 9.65-ounce clear packages and are called “H-E-B Meal Simple Chef Salad with Homestyle Ranch Dressing.” The salads have a Best By date between May 18 and May 20, 2019.
You can also look for the establishment number “EST. P-27399” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase, the USDA said in a press release.
