HPD: Auto theft suspect ditched children, found hiding on school roof

The suspect, who also was not immediately identified, bailed out of the car during the chase, police said. Still inside the car were two juveniles and a 1-year-old, according to HPD.

HOUSTON — A man found hiding on the roof of a school in southeast Houston was arrested Sunday night after driving a car taken in a robbery, police said.

Left behind were two children and a toddler, the Houston Police Department said on Twitter.

HPD’s K9 and helicopter were able to spot the suspect hiding on school’s roof, according to the department. HPD did not name the school.

The suspect, who also was not immediately identified, bailed out of the car during the chase, police said. Still inside the car were two juveniles and a 1-year-old, according to HPD.
