HOUSTON -- The eastbound frontage road of Beltway 8 was closed early Tuesday after a fatal rollover crash, reports the Houston Police Department.
The wreck was reported at Fondren in southwest Houston shortly before 4:30 a.m.
Views from Houston TranStar show a vehicle on its side on the shoulder of the frontage. Another vehicle apparently involved in the wreck was stopped in the intersection.
Police say the driver of a blue Hyundai Santa Fe was heading east when the 45-year-old victim, driving a gray Dodge Durango, ran the red light while traveling north on Fondren Road.
The driver of the Hyundai struck the Dodge, causing it to overturn. The Dodge's driver died at the scene.
The Hyundai's driver was not injured and showed no signs of intoxication.There are no charges in this incident, as the investigation is continuing.
The roadway has since fully reopened.
