Bystander injured when suspects fire at deputies during chase

One of the suspects started shooting at deputies, but the bullet hit an innocent bystander, identified as a 52-year-old woman.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A woman was injured Friday after she was caught in the middle of suspects firing at Harris County Sheriff's deputies during a chase.

The incident started when three suspects in a silver Toyota refused to pull over for a traffic stop and led them on a chase that ended on Gears Road.

One of the suspects started shooting at deputies, but the bullet hit an innocent bystander, identified as a 52-year-old woman. The suspects left the scene.

The woman was struck in the leg. Deputies say her injuries are not life-threatening.

Two suspects were arrested. Deputies are still searching for the third.
