Houston police hope Jesus Christ tattoo leads to man's ID

A 'Jesus Christ' tattoo may lead to the family of a man whose body was found in a Houston bayou. Police say they aren't sure what killed the man.

HOUSTON — Police hope a religious tattoo may help them find the family of a man whose body was found in a southeast Houston bayou.

The Houston Police Department was called to the 9800 block of Lawndale December 29, 2017 after someone spotted the man's body in Sims bayou.

No one ever came forward to ID the man, so police released pictures of two of the victim's tattoos in hopes of finding any family.

One tattoo says 'Jesus Christ' next to a cross. The tattoo is under the man's right ear.

The second tattoo says 'Kyala' and is on the back of the man's right hand.

Police said the man is possibly in his 30s and is about 6 feet tall. He was wearing only a pair of dark plaid short and socks when his body was found.

The cause of the man's death hasn't been determined.

Anyone with information is urged to call HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600.
