'It's an honor': Florists get arrangements ready for funeral of Barbara Bush

Florists in Houston are getting their arrangements ready for the funeral of former First Lady Barbara Bush.

Beautiful floral arrangements will help fill St. Martin's Episcopal Church for Saturday's private funeral service for former First Lady Barbara Bush.

The owners at Tanglewood Flowers and Garden say they're honored to be part of it all.

"It's something that's been in my family for many years," said Mory Azadi, owner of Tanglewood Flowers and Garden.

For two decades, he and his wife Kristy built a blooming business. However, being apart of an event like this is a first.

"It's gotten quite busy with orders for them and it's such an honor to be apart of that," said Kristy.

Since news came of Barbara Bush's passing, the phones at the flower shop are ringing off the hook.

"A really nice lady called and said she met the president twice and was a teacher and I told her I would send bluebonnets," said Kristy.

They're one of many florists delivering flowers to the Bush home and working on arrangements to be delivered for the funeral services.

"I was sad thinking Houston had lost such a great woman," said Kristy.

However, the memories of Mrs. Bush will stay close to their hearts.

"I've seen her from time to time when she was walking her dog and she was always full of life, full of love," said Mory.

Love they hope the world will see when Houston hosts a final farewell to a beloved first lady.

"I've just taken a step back and I just thank God actually that I had the chance and the honor to be putting my hands on something for such a special lady and special family," said Kristy.

So far, the most popular orders seem to be for yellow roses and bluebonnets. Both symbols of Texas and Barbara Bush's favorite color blue.
