People find just the 'write' way to remember Barbara Bush

"Her elegance and agility were in a class of their own," said Delina Jacky Cooper. "With kindness, love and oneness, may her soul rest in eternal peace. We love and miss you."

HOUSTON - Barbara Bush's love for literacy serves as a reminder that: words matter.

And, as the city celebrates the former First Lady who passed away on Tuesday, dozens of people found just the "write" way to honor Mrs. Barbara Bush.

The Houston Public Library's downtown location is home to the Barbara Bush Literacy Plaza. Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., the public had the opportunity to sign a condolence book which will be filed in the library's historical archives.

Here are some of the things written:

"First Lady Barbara Bush was a phenomenal woman."

"You will truly be missed. Rest in peace."

"Rest in heaven Mrs. Bush. Your memory will forever live with us."

"You are beautiful. I love you. Thank you."

"To the Bush family, thank you for sharing your remarkable wife, mother, gammy, gams, with the world. She lead such an awesome life."

"My most memorable event is when I sat a couple of rows behind you at the Rodeo. Your youngest son was being recognized, and like any mother, you were proud and took several pictures on your iPad. It reminds me that no matter what title we hold, a mom is always the proud mom of children."

"Reading about her, watching her, listening to her, interviews, and just witnessing how she conducted herself as a human being, I think she was a gift to humanity."

"She is and was loved and revered. Go Astros! Go Texans! Go Bush family!"

"She was thoughtful. She was kind. She was humble and she was meek."

"Her elegance and agility were in a class of their own. With kindness, love and oneness, may her soul rest in eternal peace. We love and miss you."
