Resident claims stranger signed for her FedEx package

As the homeowner watched, she noticed the woman showing the driver something. Moments later, the woman signs the notepad and walks off with the new iPhone X in hand.

HOUSTON — A woman is caught on camera convincing a FedEx delivery driver to give her a package that belonged to another homeowner.

Candice Magee was surprised to see her daughter’s iPhone X wasn’t delivered to her doorstep Friday when it was supposed to be there on Thursday.

Her neighborhood in Mission Bend is by all accounts as quiet as it gets outside of Houston, but she still chose to install security cameras long ago. So imagine what went through her mind when she saw FedEx at her driveway with someone she didn’t recognize approaching the driver.

“He didn’t even approach the door,” Magee said.

As she watched, she noticed the woman showing the driver something. Moments later, the woman signs the notepad and walks off with the new iPhone X in hand.

“I’ve never seen that car. I’ve never seen the female,” Magee said.

Whatever the woman showed the driver, it was enough to convince him she was authorized to sign for the package. Magee says she contacted the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office to file a report and contacted FedEx immediately to which they replied:

“We are investigating this incident and are assisting our customer in resolving the matter.”

Magee says her daughter received a notice saying the package was claimed and the person who picked up the package signed with her name with the exception of the first initial, which was wrong.

As for Apple, they’re sending a new phone to the same address.
