HPD: Man charged in fatal shooting outside AMC Theater

A 22-year-old man is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend outside of an AMC Theater in southeast Houston over the weekend.

HOUSTON – A 22-year-old man is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a man outside of an AMC Theater in southeast Houston over the weekend.

According to the Houston Police Department, Adrian Mondragon, 22, is charged with murder stemming from an incident outside of the theater located in the 11800 block of South Sam Houston Parkway East.

Police said it happened just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday when the victim and his girlfriend were leaving the theater and were allegedly confronted by Mondragon.

The suspect, armed with a rifle, fired one shot and struck the victim in the chest, police said. The victim died at the scene.

His identity has not been released yet.

Police said Mondragon then fled the scene in a black Chevrolet pickup truck and remains at large at this time.
