VERIFY: Did someone swipe a Fort Bend Co. officer's wheels?

The photo shows the ghost-marked SUV up on cinder blocks with the wheels gone.

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas - Our Verify team is looking at a viral Instagram post showing a local constable’s cruiser hit up by thieves.

The photo shows the ghost-marked SUV up on cinder blocks with the wheels gone.

Fort Bend County Precinct 2 Constable’s Chief Deputy Rodney Pentecost said he had seen the photo, and while it’s convincing, it appears to be an April Fool’s Day prank.

One giveaway: There is some blurring near the wheel wells, and the lighting isn’t quite right on the cinder blocks.

So we can verify: This photo is fake.
