HOUSTON -- Students across the Houston area can start STAAR testing with a free breakfast from McDonald's, the company says.
On Tuesday, April, 10, third- through eighth-grade students, as well as teachers, can stop by participating McDonald's locations between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to take advantage of the free meal, according to a press release from McDonald's.
No coupon is needed, and the offer is good at all McDonald's across Houston and in the surrounding towns/communities.
Customers can choose an Egg White Delight McMuffin sandwich or Fruit and Maple Oatmeal, apple slices and either of 1% low-fat milk or an Honest Kids Apple Juice Box.
McDonald's says the deal was inspired by "research and data" that reveal students who eat breakfast before taking a standardized test see higher scores than students who go without a meal.
The restaurant says students should visit with a parent or guardian, and teachers should have proof of a valid teacher or school identification card with them to take advantage of the offer.
