GALVESTON, Texas - A 2-year-old boy drowned in a pond at his grandparent's house in Galveston on Sunday, according to the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.
The child was at a family Easter gathering when his grandmother noticed he was missing. Around 5:45 p.m., family members found him in a pond in the back of the property and called 911.
Deputies arrived a few minutes later and the child was taken to the hospital by Life Flight. He was pronounced dead at the University of Texas Medical Branch about an hour later.
The child's identity has not been released at this time.
