Robbery victim's husband: 'It broke my heart that she went through that'

"He had a gun to his side and her eyes were fixated on the gun the whole time. The guy grabbed her and said, 'You're going to die.'"

HOUSTON — It's video one Houston husband can't bring himself to watch more than once.

"It broke my heart that she went through that," said the woman's husband.

The couple choosing not to stay anonymous. But their sharing their home surveillance camera footage that captures the terrifying moment. A man jumps out of his car, runs towards his wife and confronts her face to face.

"He had a gun to his side and her eyes were fixated on the gun the whole time," he said. "The guy grabbed her and said, 'You're going to die.'"

He manhandles her to the ground and her chilling screams erupt.

"You can hear her scream which stays with me," he said. "Just the fact he had a gun and said you're going to die is a scary thought."

But his wife refused to back down.

"She's a fighter," he said. "She chased him down started banging on his windows."

The thief drives off in a stolen SUV. Harris County Precinct 5's Constable Office confirms there has been an uptick in burglaries in the Westbury area since Harvey. A lot of homes there are still vacant, and those that are back feel like targets.

"We need some help in this area," he said. "After Harvey we haven't felt safe."

Now this husband hopes his wife's screams and the video move someone to come forward and identify the man who attacked his wife.

"Someone is violating her like that it makes me so frustrated and so angry," her husband said. "I want to be there for her. Just had that helpless feeling that I couldn't do anything to help her."

Houston police are investigating the robbery. If you recognize the man in the video, call Houston Police.
