HOUSTON – Police are working to determine the circumstances surround a shooting that left one man wounded in east Houston overnight

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded at 10 p.m. Tuesday to a call of a man who had been shot in the 300 block of North Carolina near Fidelity.

When HPD arrived at the scene, two males told them that they were walking when another male pulled up in a car and told them he had been shot.

The pedestrians said the male asked them for help, but requested that they not call 911, police said. The two pedestrians called 911 anyway and Houston firefighters came out to aid the man who had been shot.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with one gunshot wound to the upper chest, police said. His condition was not known.

Police are investigating to determine where the shooting took place and what were the circumstances.
