Neglected poodle mixes covered with fleas, feces taken from home

The Houston Humane Society said the dog's fur had to be shaved down to their skin because it was so matted and full of dirt, filth and even feces. Employees had to sedate each dog in order to clean them.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Four dogs were taken from a home Tuesday in southwest Harris County after deputies received a tip concerning the well-being of the dogs, according to officials.

Harris County Precinct 5 deputies recovered four poodle mixes from a home near the 10000 block of Radford Lane and bought them to the Houston Humane Society.

HHS said the dog’s fur had to be shaved down to their skin because it was so matted and full of dirt, filth, fleas and even feces. Employees had to sedate each dog in order to clean them.

At this time the poodles will remain under veterinary care at the Houston Humane Society.

A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27th where HHS is seeking permanent custody of the animals.

HHS is asking Harris County residents to speak up for animals in need. Anyone who suspects animal cruelly can report it to 927paws.org or call 832-927-PAWS.
