MARBLE FALLS, Texas -- A suspicious package was found in Marble Falls Monday around 11:45 a.m., according to Glenn Hanson, Captain of the Marble Fall Police Department.

The package, a cardboard box sealed with duct tape, was found on the 1600 block of Mormon Mill Road. According to MFPD, a business north of where the package was found was evacuated, and residents in the area were asked to remain in shelter.

Streets were closed from 11:45 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Marble Falls PD reached out to the Austin Police Department, who dispatched a helicopter along with an APD bomb technician, an explosive ordinance technician, and a DPS bomb technician.

After conducting an investigation, they determined the package was not explosive in nature.

Police are not disclosing what was in the package, and are investigating to see whether it was left to cause a reaction from the law enforcement. MFPD is leading the investigation.
