Houston welcomes home UH basketball team after loss in NCAA tournament

"If our fans and students get behind the program, the sky's the limit," said UH sports fan Randy Randel. "Everything else is in place. It's up to us now."

HOUSTON- The University of Houston men's basketball team returned to campus on Sunday - less than 24 hours after they lost to Michigan 64-63 in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

"Michigan made a great play, but I don’t think the best team won that game last night," said UH Head Coach Kelvin Sampson. "Every kid on our team thought we would win that game, and we played that way."

This is the first time since 1984 that UH has made it to the national tournament and won a game.
