Fans greet TSU men's basketball team as they return to Houston

"The sky's the limit for us. You just gotta keep grinding, keep playing hard," said TSU sophomore Aaron Campbell. "Keep going. Listen to the coach. We've got a great coach, so, we should be fine."

HOUSTON - The Texas Southern University men's basketball team returned to the Third Ward less than 24 hours after losing in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against Xavier, 102-83.

The team arrived by bus from Hobby Airport to campus on Saturday. As the bus pulled up, a small crowd of fans waved pom-poms and cheered for the team.

"I’m so proud of these boys," said freshman Taressa Lincoln. "This is my first year here at TSU. And I support the Tigers all the way."

"It was a great experience. I don’t know, I can’t describe it really," said sophomore basketball player Aaron Campbell. "I’m from the Bahamas. It’s just so great. People from back home tuned in."

The TSU Tigers are hoping their 2018 NCAA Tournament appearance will help propel their program forward in 2019.

"The sky’s the limit for us. You just gotta keep grinding, keep playing hard. Keep going. Listen to the coach," said Campbell. "So, we should be fine."
