Bexar County deputies Tasered with their own weapon during struggle

When two Bexar County deputies intervened in a struggle between a man and a woman, the man gained control of a Taser and proceeded to use it on both officers.

Two Bexar County deputies are OK after being Tasered with their own weapons.

The drama unfolded Friday morning near the 6800 block of Oldham in northeast Bexar County, where deputies were responding to a report of burglars in action in the area.

A spokesperson for BSCO said that while deputies were investigating the burglary call, they witnessed a man and woman struggling in an alley.

They intervened, and in the ensuing struggle, one deputy Tasered the man. The man was able to gain control of the other deputy’s Taser and proceeded to use it on both officers.

The struggle continued for some time before deputies were eventually able to handcuff the man.

The deputies were treated on scene for their injuries; the suspect was taken to a nearby hospital.

The woman told officers that the man attacked her in her garage and tried to steal her motorcycle. She says she was in the process of defending herself when deputies arrived.

The suspect will be charged with burglary, attempted robbery, and assault of a public servant, according to the sheriff's office.
