Teen dies after being injured in fiery crash in Sienna Plantation

A 19-year-old woman died overnight after being injured in a fiery crash Tuesday in Fort Bend County.

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – A 19-year-old woman died overnight after being injured in a fiery crash Tuesday in Fort Bend County.

Jordyn Walther, 19 and her boyfriend Cesar Gonzalez, 21, were the victims of the fiery crash Tuesday in Sienna Plantation.

Walther died overnight in the hospital, while Gonzalez is still recovering from the burns he got trying to save her.

Crash investigators with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office told KHOU 11 News the two were in an open top Jeep on Sienna Ranch Road. A 17-year-old driver of another car pulled out in front of the Jeep. Deputies said the crash caused Gonzalez, who was driving the Jeep, to lose control of the vehicle, which then flipped upside and catch fire.

Walther suffered life-threatening injuries and severe burns. She was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office says this crash is still under investigation, and so far, no one faces any charges.
