HPD: Man killed in front of brother at apartment complex in west Houston

The motive of the shooting is unclear and police are unaware if the victim knew the suspects.

A man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in west Houston Saturday night, police say.

The Houston Police Department said around 11:15 p.m. the victim, his brother and a coworker were sitting in a vehicle in the 6300 block of Windswept Lane.

A black truck parked behind their vehicle and two male suspects got out of the car, according to police.

One of the suspects allegedly ordered the victim to get out of the vehicle. Police said when the victim got out the suspects fired between three to five shots at him and fled the scene.

The victim died instantly.

Police are trying to identify the victim’s coworker so they can gather more information.

The motive of the shooting is unclear and police are unaware if the victim knew the suspects.

Police said one of the suspects is 5 feet 9 inches and weighs about 170 pounds. He was wearing a black and gray hooded sweatshirt with shorts. Police do not have a description of the second suspect.
