Racial slurs painted on car windows outside Angleton HS

The white-painted messages included the "N-word," "KKK" and swastikas.

ANGLETON, Texas - Racial epithets were left painted on multiple car windows outside of Angleton High School on Wednesday.

The white-painted messages included the “N-word,” “KKK” and swastikas.

School district officials say the student who was responsible was caught and disciplinary action would result.

“I looked at the pictures. I thought, ‘What is going on at the school?’” said Cherrie Butler-Davis, the mother of a 15-year-old student. “I was pissed. I was pissed because I went to school here. I was pissed.”

The mother said she was angry because parents were not told about the incident by the school.

“A lot of stuff is kicked up under the rug,” Butler-Davis said. “It’s time for somebody to say something.”

The school district did not respond to phone calls prior to broadcast.

KHOU 11 News received the following statement on Wednesday night:

“Today we had an Angleton High School student write racial slurs on a couple of vehicles in the AHS parking lot. The incident was not taken lightly, and the student has been caught and will be disciplined within the Angleton ISD Code of Conduct.

"Hate is never okay, nor will racial slurs be tolerated at AHS. We are all Wildcats and deserve to be treated with respect.”

Angleton Police said they are not investigating the incident, and it was not reported to them as a hate crime.
