HPD: Woman claims self-defense in fatal stabbing of boyfriend

A woman is claiming self-defense after she fatally stabbed her boyfriend during an argument while driving in south Houston overnight.

HOUSTON – A woman is claiming self-defense after she fatally stabbed her boyfriend during an argument while driving in south Houston overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded just after 11:30 p.m. Monday to a call of a stabbing on Lazywood near South Wayside.

When HPD arrived at the scene, they found a man stabbed once. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A woman at the scene told police that she and the victim were in a relationship. They were driving down Wayside when the couple got into an argument.

Police said the dispute resulted in her stabbing him once. She said she did it in self-defense.

The woman remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, police said.

Investigators said once they get all of the information together, they will present the case to the District Attorney’s office to see if any charges will be filed.
