Video released in kidnapping, carjacking at SW Houston gas station

HOUSTON – Police are hoping surveillance video will help them find a man accused of kidnapping a 7-year-old boy.

It happened at a southwest Houston gas station in 5400 block of Court Road back in December.

The child was alone in the back seat playing a game on a cell phone when the suspect ran up to the car, jumped into the driver’s seat, and took off.

The boy's grandmother, Anita Fontenot, was inside the gas station at the time.

“It was very scary” Fontenot said, adding “I didn’t care about the car. I can always get another car, but I can never get another grandson named Jacory.”

The suspect let the child out of the car about a block away.

The boy told KHOU 11 News, the man who took him told him “I have a gun. If you don’t want to get shot, get out of the car.”

Police described the suspect as being between 140-150 pounds.
