HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - People in the Sheldon area did a double-take Thursday when they saw gas for $1.68/gallon at one filling station.
The manager of the Fuel Depot on East Tidwell and John Ralston said he discounted his prices as part of a customer appreciation effort. He says he never got a chance to help people out during Hurricane Harvey.
“It’s just a way for us to give back, especially with us being new,” said store manager Adil Prasla, whose Fuel Depot opened in September. “So we’re pretty new, and this is our first chance we’ve gotten to give back, and that’s what we’re doing.”
Prasla says prices will stay low Friday, and he may keep it going through the weekend if the demand is high.
