SPRING, Texas – A motorcycle rider died after slamming into the back of a flatbed trailer on FM 2920 in north Harris County overnight.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it happened just after 11 p.m. Friday when an SUV pulling a flatbed trailer was heading east on FM 2920 and attempted a U-turn at Nannette.
The lights were red on FM 2920 at Nannette, so the traffic going west was stopped at the red light.
Just as the SUV with the trailer started heading west, a 20-year-old motorcycle rider went in between two cars stopped at the red light, running the red light, deputies said.
Deputies said the motorcycle then slammed into the back end of the trailer. The motorcycle rider died at the scene.
The three adults in the SUV pulling the trailer were not hurt.
