$20K reward offered for info in 1986 Valentine's Day murder of Fort Bend Co. woman

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas - Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspect(s) in the 1986 murder of Marilu Geri.

On Feb. 14, 1986, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Marilu and Stephen Geri’s home in the 9800 block of Chalford after reports Marilu Geri was bleeding and unresponsive.

Marilu Geri was transported to Fort Bend Community Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead.

Officials say Marilu and Stephen Geri had recently moved into the home where the two ran an insurance business. They say Marilu Geri was set to host a party at the home on Feb. 14, 1986, for Valentine’s Day and her mother’s birthday.

According to deputies, her mother discovered Marilu Geri bleeding and unresponsive when she arrived to the home to help prepare for the party.

“This was a tragic crime that has lingered for more than 30 years,” Sheriff Troy Nehls said in a statement. “Despite the time frame, we are hoping there are residents who remain in the Houston area or elsewhere who might recall some detail that will lead to an arrest.”
