HCSO: Drunk driver causes fatal crash in NW Harris Co.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies say the driver in the Dodge was transported for minor injuries and found to be intoxicated. Alcohol was allegedly in the vehicle.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas- A drunk driver caused a fatal crash in northwest Harris County late Friday night, deputies say.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, a white Dodge Ram was traveling northbound on Telge Road while a silver Buick was traveling westbound on Boudreaux Road around 8 p.m.

Deputies say the Buick came to a stop at a stop sign before attempting to turn left onto Telge. At the same time, the driver in the Dodge allegedly ran the stop sign and struck the Buick on driver's side.

Both vehicles ended up in a ditch.

The driver in the Buick was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies say the driver in the Dodge was transported for minor injuries and found to be intoxicated. Alcohol was allegedly in the vehicle.

HCSO says the driver will be charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.
