HOUSTON - Police are looking for a wanted suspect in connection with a 2016 murder.
According to Crime Stoppers, 28-year-old Mercedes McDonald has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Tony Iwu. He was found dead in a field in the back of his truck in the 5000 block of South Acres Drive on March 6. Houston police believe Iwu was murdered and set on fire.
Investigators say McDonald was the last person to see the victim alive. They also believe McDonald allegedly aided a co-defendant in the case, Jason Gates, in the robbery, assault and murder of the victim.
Police say the murder occurred in the 5800 block of Schevers Street.
