CBS sets premiere dates for 'Big Brother,' 'BrainDead'

June brings a mix of Big Brother and BrainDead to CBS.

Perennial reality series Brother, hosted by Julie Chen, opens Season 18 with a two-hour episode on June 22 (8 p.m. ET/PT), with two other weekly installments starting June 23 and 26, the network said in a summer premiere date announcement Thursday.

BrainDead, a new series from The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King, launches June 13 (10 p.m. ET/PT).

The comic-thriller, set in the world of Washington politics, follow Laurel (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), “a young, fresh-faced Hill staffer who discovers two things: the government has stopped working, and bugs are eating the brains of Congress members and Hill staffers,” according to a description of the series.

June also includes the premiere of murder-mystery American Gothic (June 22, 10 p.m. ET/PT). The series, produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, is about “a prominent Boston family reeling in the wake of the chilling discovery that someone in their midst is linked to an infamous string of murders,” the show description says.

Zoo, last summer’s most-watched scripted series, returns for Season 2 with a two-hour premiere on June 28. James Wolk stars.

The summer schedule features original programming five nights a week. Premiere dates include:

Mon., June 13: BrainDead (series premiere, 10 p.m. ET/PT)

Wed., June 22: Big Brother (two-hour season premiere, 8 p.m. ET/PT); American Gothic (series premiere, 10 p.m. ET/PT)

Thurs., June 23: Big Brother (Thursday premiere, 9 p.m. ET/PT)

Sun., June 26: Big Brother (Sunday premiere, 8 p.m. ET/PT)

Tues., June 28: Zoo (two-hour season premiere, 9 p.m. ET/PT)
