'Amazing Spider-Man' star Sally Field did not like 'Amazing Spider-Man'

Remember Amazing Spider-Man? And Amazing Spider-Man 2? No, not the one with Tobey Maguire in it or the upcoming one with Tom Holland. We're talking about Andrew Garfield's outing with the character. The movies were not super, well, amazing, garnering only a 73% and 53% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively.

And critics weren't the only ones not feeling the love for Spidey. Sally Field, who played Aunt May in both films, wasn't a huge fan, either.

“It’s not my kind of movie,” the actress said on an appearance on Howard Stern's show. “But my friend Laura Ziskin was the producer, and we knew it would be her last film, and she was my first producing partner, and she was a spectacular human.”

So how much effort did Field actually put into playing Aunt May? “Not a great deal," she told Stern. "It’s really hard to find a three-dimensional character in it, and you work it as much as you can, but you can’t put 10 pounds of (expletive) in a five-pound bag.”

Sick burn, Sally. Sick burn.
