They teased and tweeted and, finally, they set a date.

Yes. After their previous announcement that Hillary Clinton would guest star on Broad City, sitcom co-creators and stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer finally dished on all the details during a SXSW panel Saturday.

Per The Verge, the Democratic presidential candidate will appear on Wednesday’s episode alongside other special guests, including Cynthia Nixon, Alan Alda and Rachel Dratch. The episode centers on Glazer’s character who lands a position on the Clinton campaign after being fired for inappropriate inactivity on her job’s corporate Twitter account.

They're with her... literally.

Glazer and Jacobson shared that Amy Poehler helped to coordinate Clinton’s cameo on the show. Poehler executive produces Broad City and repeatedly channeled Clinton on Saturday Night Live over the years. Poehler worked in tandem with the director (who had a friend on the Clinton campaign) to make the initial connection, though Jacobson and Glazer said they weren't necessarily expecting anything to come out of it and even braced themselves for a cancellation. Following a telephone conference about Clinton's appearance, Jacobson admitted her initial reaction was, "Yeah, okay, we'll see."

But, as the comedic duo explained at SXSW, Clinton followed through, setting aside 45 minutes for her cameo.

Jacobson and Glazer also clarified their initial plug, maintaining that the episode isn’t an endorsement.

"That's not our show, really, we're not making a political stance here," Jacobson said. "It was really more that this is something Ilana's character would do. And Hillary, regardless of where we stand — and we love Hillary — Hillary is such an iconic figure right now and she has been."

Glazer added: "We're trying to make really good TV. I wonder how you'll feel after seeing it. I think you'll agree that it's a really good episode of TV because Hillary Clinton is in it."
