Ariana Grande: Kesha faces 'incredible double standards'

Ariana Grande and Kesha.

Her views on donuts aside, Ariana Grande's views on feminism are worth cheering on.

She tweeted a message of love to Kesha after a judge refused to allow the singer to exit her contract with her producer and alleged abuser, Dr. Luke.

And in a new radio interview with Carson Daly, she further expressed her support for Kesha, taking the opportunity to slam sexism in the music industry along the way.

She described her relationship with Kesha as friendly, denying she knew anything about the Dr. Luke's alleged abuse.

“I love Kesha. I worked with her when I was a lot younger. We’ve been friends, I support her, regardless of what’s going on," she said. "I didn’t know about a lot of this. At the time I was really young. We didn’t discuss any of this."

She then went on to lambast the "shocking" culture that refuses to believe Kesha, and other survivors, when they speak out.

"The incredible double standards that we [women] face on a daily basis, in the industry and just in the world, it’s shocking.  I would be so amused, and pardon me if this comes across as sexist, but I don’t think a male artist would be in this position right now.  Sorry.”
