'Marvel's Luke Cage' will hit Netflix in Sept.

Luke Cage will be returning to Netflix sooner than fans expected.

Marvel's Luke Cage, the third of the planned five collaborative shows between Marvel and Netflix, is set to hit the streaming service on Sept. 30, according to series star Mike Colter. Colter let the news slip at the premiere the second season of Marvel's Daredevil (skip to 2:20 to see his announcement).

Colter premiered the character of Luke Cage, a Marvel Comics superhero with unbreakable skin and super strength, in Jessica Jones, which hit the streaming service last November. The new show will star Colter alongside Rosario Dawson (who has appeared in both Daredevil and Jones), Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, and Sonia Braga. Marvel is also currently developing an Iron Fist show and a planned Defenders series, which will unite all four heroes.

Daredevil's second season premieres on March 18 at 12:00 a.m. PT.
