Daisy Ridley pens powerful message after receiving misogynist hate

You do you, girl.

Daisy Ridley is not here for your misogyny. She's not here for body shaming or unkindness. She's just here. And the world needs to be OK with that.

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens star wrote a message to her fans via Instagram after a comment on one of her posts, which just happened to be a message of support on International Women's Day, shamed her for being too skinny. Ridley wrote a measured and thoughtful response.

Ridley and the character she portrays in The Force Awakens have been lightning rods since the movie debuted and her character was revealed as the film's protagonist and hero, to the chagrin of some in desolate corners of the Internet. And she's not alone, considering how much hate and harassment many women get on any given day online.

Good thing both Rey and Ridley are here to stay for a long time. And as Yoda would say: Hate, haters going to.
