INDIANAPOLIS — A public memorial service for country music artist Joey Martin Feek will be held Sunday in the Alexandria-Monroe High School gymnasium. Feek was a native of Alexandria and died in her family home March 4, surrounded by loved ones.

Joey Martin Feek and Rory Feek perform onstage during the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards rehearsals.

The service will be hosted by Bill and Gloria Gaither, gospel musicians and family friends of Feek's.

“Joey was one of a kind," Bill said. "We all will miss that sweet, transparent spirit.”

Feek, along with her husband Rory, was half of country music duo Joey + Rory. Rory Feek wrote a blog called "This Life I Live," which chronicled his wife's battle with cancer and his deep devotion to her and their family, including daughter Indiana, who just turned 2.

A memorial will be held for Joey Feek in Indiana.

Feek was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014. The couple went from finalists on CMT's music reality competition Can You Duet in 2008 to Grammy nominees this year.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Joey and Indy at P.O. Box 5471 Vancouver, WA 98668.
