Jacob Tremblay is already gearing up for the 2017 awards season. His latest role? A rookie cop.

OK, admittedly, the Room actor was just goofing around with his father, but you have to admit he sure looks the part! Dressed in amber, aviator shades, an official police cap and a crisp black jacket, the nine-year-old star recently spent the day at Vancouver Police Department, doing some "detective work" with his Internet hit of a father.

The visit represents a break from the family’s usual red carpet rounds — and, judging from the photos, it looks like Jacob had a blast.

“I always bring my Dad to my work, but today I went to his!!!” Jacob shared on Instagram, noting that, yes, the doughnut-snacking stereotype is real.
