"Just another mother at school helping out at the annual fundraiser!"

That’s how one casual observer chose to label this stunning performance by the one and only Beyoncé. But in her defense, Bey was simply showing her school spirit. The Formation singer held the surprise show Saturday at Blue Ivy’s elementary school, dazzling the crowd in a shimmering black and gold dress before belting out a few of her singles, such as 2008's Halo, and taking on Whitney Houston’s iconic hit, I Will Always Love You.

Beyonce’s performance marked the 75th annual grand gala of the Center for Early Education, located in North Hollywood, and served as a tribute to Reveta Bowers, the long-time head of the center, a "socio-economically and culturally diverse independent school for children, toddlers through grade six."

And what better way to celebrate the "Grand Dame" than with the Queen Bey?
