Foo Fighters break up... NOT!

Since Dave Grohl performed solo at the Oscars, there has been a lot of talk about the Foo Fighters breaking up or going on an indefinite hiatus.

To address the rumors, the band teased an "official" announcement on Twitter about their relationship status. That announcement? A prank video published Wednesday night about how they're splitting up... NOT!

(Warning: Video contains some foul language.)

The 7-minute-plus piece is one big joke about Grohl leaving the band, which is funny, because HE IS NOT LEAVING.

"Seeing as how the Academy Awards thing went so well, I got to thinking that maybe it's time, ya know? Maybe it's time for me to do my own thing," he deadpans on camera.

And then the other Foo Fighters are seen trying to revive the band, and send it in "a new direction... something hip" with a new frontman, they say. They brainstorm recruiting someone like Diplo, Justin Bieber, Phil Collins (another drummer!) or Gwen Stefani.

Nick Lachey tries out for the Foo Fighters in a parody video about the band's rumored break-up.

Though Nick Lachey is not listed as one of the band's possible new singers, the former 98 Degrees frontman says he "got here as fast as I could" to prove he has the pipes to replace Grohl. He proceeds to sing a really decent version of Everlong.

To drive the point home, the video closes with a definitive statement.

For the millionth time, we're not breaking up. And nobody's going (explicit) solo!
