For a group of very lucky few astronauts, the ultimate view of Earth is from the International Space Station.

For the rest of the world, there's the next best thing — the IMAX film A Beautiful Planet, which features the Earth shot from the space station's unique perspective.

USA TODAY exclusively debuts the trailer for the movie before it opens nationwide April 29, with narration by Jennifer Lawrence.  Director Toni Myers incorporated stunning footage shot by the 2015 space crew.

Digital photography allowed never-before-possible perspectives of Earth, capturing low-light views of cities and lightning storms. Astronaut Kjell Lindgren captured shots of the aurora lights as the ISS passed over.

“With all of that experience, flying over the aurora borealis was only one time I got goosebumps up there. Not on the horizon, you fly over the top of it,” Lindgren says. “That’s where the training kicks in. To be able to capture that for audiences for me is really a triumph.”
