Get ready: 'High School Musical 4' is on

OK, all you Wildcat fans, we know you'll want to cheer about this.

High School Musical 4, another sequel to the Disney Channel original that introduced Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel, to young television fans 10 years ago, started a nationwide casting search Tuesday.

The cable network also announced Tuesday that director Jeffrey Hornaday (Teen Beach Movie, Teen Beach 2) will direct and choreograph the movie.

"High School Musical is part of Disney Channel’s DNA. It embodies all that we stand for.  As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we're excited to announce 'the start of something new' -- as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the High School Musical franchise," Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, said in a statement.

Many members of the original cast reunited for the original's 10-year anniversary special which aired in January.

Hudgens recently starred as Rizzo in Fox's Grease Live! and Efron is working on the Baywatch movie based on the popular series that aired from 1989 to 2001.
