Kesha thanks #FreeKesha supporters after court ruling

Kesha filed a lawsuit against producer Dr. Luke in 2014 alleging he abused, drugged, and raped her.

Kesha released a statement Tuesday night thanking fans for their unwavering support following her loss in court against producer and alleged abuser Dr. Luke, née Lukasz Gottwald.

“I am beyond words in gratitude,” the TiK ToK singer wrote on Instagram. “Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. A million times over and forever thank you. The support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much.”

The pop star later shared a longer message on Facebook Wednesday afternoon.

"All I ever wanted was to be able to make music without being afraid, scared, or abused," she wrote. "This case has never been about a renegotiation of my record contract – it was never about getting a bigger, or a better deal. This is about being free from my abuser. I would be willing to work with Sony if they do the right thing and break all ties that bind me to my abuser."

Kesha then addressed survivors who may be discouraged to come forward due to the setbacks in her case. "There are people who will help you. I for one, will stand beside you and behind you. I know now how this all feels and will forever fight for you the way perfect strangers have been fighting for me. Yes, I am very much a feminist, but more than that, I am a humanist. I believe in supporting my fellow human beings in being SAFE. We're all in this together. You are not alone. I love you and thank you."

The social media posts mark the first time Kesha has publicly addressed fans since last week's ruling. On Friday, a New York judge denied the singer’s request for a preliminary injunction, which would have released her from her contract with her producer and allowed her to record music elsewhere. The request followed an October 2014 lawsuit Kesha filed against Dr. Luke for alleged sexual and emotional abuse spanning nearly a decade.

Kesha, producer trade lawsuits over abuse claims

Dr. Luke, who filed a countersuit against Kesha for defamation and breach of contract, spoke out against the singer's allegations on Monday, calling them “horrendous and untrue.”

"Imagine if you or somebody you loved was publicly accused of a rape you knew they didn't do. Imagine that," he wrote in a stream of tweets refuting Kesha’s claims.

He later expressed confidence that “when this is over the lies will be exposed and the truth will prevail,” adding, “I want to thank all my friends and family who have supported me throughout this.”

In a statement to USA TODAY, Dr. Luke's lawyer, Christine Lepera, also addressed the public condemnation of her client: "The allegations against him are outright lies that have been advanced to extort a contract renegotiation and money. Kesha and her counsel have cavalierly subjected Dr. Luke and his family to trial by Twitter, using a vicious smear campaign to ruin his reputation for financial gain while failing to support their claims."

A number of high-profile celebrities, such as Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Lena Dunham and Lady Gaga, have expressed solidarity with Kesha in the wake of the ongoing legal dispute, rallying under the #FreeKesha banner. Swift has also donated $250,000 to the singer. In addition, fans have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $2 million to buy Kesha out of her Sony contract.
