INDIANAPOLIS — Maryum "May May" Ali, daughter of Louisville heavyweight boxing legend Muhammad Ali, is one of the participants in A&E Network's 60 Days In, shot in an Indiana jail, according to a network spokeswoman.

Maryum Ali is one of seven participants at the Michael L. Becher Adult Correction Complex in Clark County who were filmed using hundreds of hidden cameras that employees and inmates were unaware of to "expose internal issues and what really happens behind bars," a previous press release said.

She is described in a release as "a social worker fighting to put an end to gun violence."

According to Maryum Ali's website, she's currently a public speaker and activist. Maryum Ali is the oldest of Muhammad Ali's children and was born and raised in Chicago. She performed as a stand-up comedian for several years and produced a rap album titled The Introduction in 1992.

Maryum Ali received a degree in social work, according to her website, and eventually worked as a regional manager for the office of gang reduction and youth development for the city of Los Angeles. She also wrote a children's book about her father, called I Shook Up the World: The Incredible Life of Muhammad Ali.

Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel had final say in who participated in the series.

The series will air weekly from 9-11 p.m. on March 10 and at 10 p.m. every week after that.
