Only Adele could bomb at the Grammys — and get a sales bump

Adele, harnessing the divine power of the Billboard charts.

Being Adele affords you certain privileges.

Like, for instance, having a messy performance at the Grammys — and instead of getting dragged afterwards like most other artists would, having the Recording Academy President personally explain the technical difficulties that led to the sound issues, and then having the rest of the viewing public rally around your amazing In-N-Out tweet.

And being able to top the Billboard charts the week after.

As if her Grammys mistake was just a bad dream, Adele's 25returned to the top of the Billboard album charts Monday, a full three months after its original release. Sales were up 25% last week, topping 151,000 units across album/song sales and streaming activity and bringing 25 to a whopping 8.3 million copies sold in the United States.

Bet she's not spending this day in tears!
