Celebrity superlatives: All hail Saint West
USA TODAY’s Jaleesa Jones digs through the latest celebrity news for highlights ... and lowlights. Think high school yearbook superlatives — if John Stamos and Lauryn Hill were classmates.
Most awww-inspiring baby picture: Saint West
All hail Saint West! After initially shielding her two-month-old son from the public eye, Kim is finally permitting fans to catch up with the newest Kardashian. The reality television star shared a photograph of her baby boy on her website and app on Monday, dedicating the intimate reveal to her late father, Robert Kardashian. “Today is my dad’s birthday,” she wrote. “I know there’s nothing more in the world he would have wanted than to meet his grandchildren. So I wanted to share this pic of Saint with you all.”
Most supportive fans:Kesha
#FreeKesha isn't just a hashtag — it's a full-on campaign.
After a New York judge ruled against a preliminary injunction, which would release Kesha from her record contract with producer Dr. Luke, GoFundMe user Brandon de la Cruz created a crowdfunding page on Friday to buy the pop singer out of her Sony contract. The campaign's goal is set at $2 million.
"This is a campaign to achieve justice where the legal system has failed," de la Cruz wrote. "This is a campaign to tell Sony that they cannot enable abusers by upholding unscrupulous contracts."
As of early Monday, the page raised more than $11,000 from approximately 760 users.
Best blast from the past: John Stamos
Have mercy! As if Netflix's reboot of the original series wasn’t enough, John Stamos sent Full House fans into a nostalgic wallow on Sunday after he shared behind-the-scenes footage from the sitcom. In the video, which is dated Aug. 14, 1989, Stamos can be seen hugging three-year-old Ashley Olsen while the cast is on location in Hawaii. Moments into the clip, Mary-Kate sneaks up on the two and playfully hits Stamos on the head. An off-camera figure can then be heard saying, “Oh, no, be nice, Mary-Kate. You better give him a hug," which the three-year-old twin graciously obliged.
Best Friends: The cast of Friends
The gang's (almost) all here! On Sunday, NBC aired a special tribute to James Burrows, gathering a few of our favorite Friends to honor the director-producer. Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer were all present for the sit-down with Andy Cohen, and dished on what went on behind the scenes of the beloved sitcom. Among the most memorable reveals? Kudrow, Cox, and Aniston had lunch together every day for 10 years while they were filming the show. What are friends for, right?
Most-awaited duet: The Weeknd/Lauryn Hill
Lauryn Hill is still killing them softly. After failing to appear for a duet with The Weeknd during the 58th annual Grammy Awards, Hill joined the alternative R&B artist on The Tonight Show Friday. While there, the soulful pair delivered the undulating duet fans were yearning for, performing In The Night from The Weeknd’s Grammy Award-winning 2015 LP, Beauty Behind the Madness. “Most important experience of my life,” The Weeknd later tweeted. “Thank you Ms. Hill.”
