Meet Kylie Minogue's 28-year-old fiancé, Joshua Sasse

Congrats are in order for Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue, who is about to become Mrs. Galavant.

She went public with her engagement to Joshua Sasse, the 28-year-old lead of ABC's medieval musical comedy, in a most old-school way: with an announcement in  the U.K.'s Daily Telegraph. Benedict Cumberbatch announced his engagement to Sophie Hunter in the same way, and as newspaper employees, we wouldn't mind seeing that practice come back into vogue.

They met in the fall when she filmed a guest arc on Galavant, playing the Queen of the Enchanted Forest and he reportedly put a ring on it during a holiday ski trip.

Minogue has long been a showbiz bachelorette and has had a string of celebrity boyfriends including late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence and French actor Olivier Martinez, who would later marry Halle Berry.

In 2005, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36. She had surgery and chemotherapy, the effects of which she likened to a "nuclear bomb." Some good did come out of it —her diagnosis spurred many young women to schedule medical exams.

So we'd say she's long overdue for her Prince Charming and the accompanying happily-ever-after. (BTW, did we mention he's got aristocratic roots?)
